Anyone missing Nellie Williams, b.abt.1862?

Question

Nellie Williams, d. Chicago, IL age 33, one son, George Williams Block, who was supposedly a Bradley by birth. According to family story, George's grandmother was "from the South" and had race horses. The Williams grandmother? Not sure. Anyone with a Nellie who went off to Chicago with a Bradley. George was b. 1881, prob. Chicago, although I have yet to find a birth record there. Any hints, suggestions, rumors welcomed!

Birth:  1862 Ohio, USA Death:  Feb. 9, 1895 Chicago Cook County Illinois, USA Nellie Williams was my great grandmother on my grandfather's side. She died long before I was born so I never knew her or even what she looked like. If anyone lives near this cemetery, I would like a photo of her stone please. file notes: e-mail from Anne K She died 2/09/1895, according to her death certificate (which I cannot find!), at Cook County Insane Asylum. She was buried at Oak Woods cemetery, where her next of kin was listed as "LA" (Block) There is also a burial plot listed, but no-one else with her there. That was all the info I was able to get. I called the NARA archives at Northeastern Illinois University for the search, her cert is listed online in the pre-1916 death database. Anne I just checked that database again today 5/21/09) and her death record is no longer in it. August 14, 2012: I can't seem to find her death record. I am looking for Nellie's family of origin, Williams, not certain of where she was born. The find-a-grave post includes records found which my cousin has listed as possibilities, but not proven. For example, I don't believe Nellie is b. in Ohio. Death record says she d. 2 FEB 1895 age 33. Nothing else. All documents that include info never mention Ohio. Census has George's mother b. Illinois, or New York (says 1920).  Louis A. Block, the step-father, was b. Maryland, according to census data. George himself supposed to have been b. Chicago, IL, but birth record has not been found so far.

 Any suggestions for Williams family of origin?  Thanks for your help!
