John William Morris' father, we think was Jim Morris and his mother DOLLY Brock.  She is also from North Carolina, however, the "kicker" is that they moved to the Washington County, GEORGIA area, and he, in 2 marriages, had 19 CHILDREN.

The woods around Soperton, Tennille, in & around Washington and Montgomery Counties are full of HIS descendants.

I have much on them, and even own 2 photos of he and his 2nd wife, Sarah....I am looking for info on any of their children, or grands---but mostly--on his parents Jim and Dolly---and their ANCESTORS.    Anyone know of this family-----can contact me here, or my email is with bellsouth.net, and my prefix to that is drwhitejr.   Put them together and email me if we might help each other!   Thanks.

Go to  archive.org .  On the search line type Morris Family.  Go down the list to find The Morris Family in Philadelphia  and further down, The Genealogy of Anthony Morris.  Further down, several more.  These history books were published in the 1800s.  Click on a title.  On the left, choose what kind of download you want.  The reading is free

Given his approximate birthdate, your John may be related to or descended from Lewis Morris, who signed the Declaration of Independence.  The several Morris brothers came to America in the early 1600s.  Among them were several judges and the first governor of New Jersey. Their genealogy is documented in several printed sources and in several online sites.  If you start with Lewis and  work around his brothers, cousins, uncles, etc you might find your John.  I hope this helps.
