Hello,

This is my first post. My name is Judith (Choate) Stoyko, and I live in Hayward, California. I am searching for info on the parents (names unknown) and siblings (John and Nora) of my paternal grandmother, Rosa McDonald, born in Arkansas in August 1892. She married my paternal grandfather, Emmett Daniel Choate, in 1914; they lived in Springfield, MO. Emmett died in 1918. Rosa then married Joel Levi Mallonee in about 1922; he died around 1955. Rosa then married Ira Sherman Yates in the late 1950s. Rosa died in Springfield, Missouri, in August 1975. I've sent away for Rosa's birth certificate (nothing found). I have her death certificate, her social security application, and the license for her marriage to Emmett Choate. I'm told that her parents died when she was young. I can't find Rosa or either of her siblings in any of the census records, or any McDonalds who had children with those names. Any ideas for finding these folks??? (They are Caucasian.)

I see the entry that Frank Gill pointed out. However, the birth date for that Rosa is January 1892, and you said it was August. Also note, that the race for this family is "Black" and you haven't indicated anything about this.

However, it looks like there is another Rosa McDonald, born in Arkansas, estimated in 1892. See this entry:

"United States Census, 1910," database with images, FamilySearch(https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:ML71-Y84 : accessed 3 May 2016), Rosa M Mcdonald in household of Joseph Mcdonald, North Choctaw, Lincoln, Oklahoma, United States; citing enumeration district (ED) ED 101, sheet 11B, NARA microfilm publication T624 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.); FHL microfilm 1,375,272.

The race for this family is "White".

And it would be great if you joined WikiTree, Judith! You can add all your family genealogy and it would help facilitate collaboration.
Thank you. I've traced this family, and it's not the right one as Rosa still appears with them in the 1920 census when, in fact, she was widowed and living as a boarder/housekeeper for a family, along with her son (my dad, age 5).
