I think I adopted a Frederick Barfield-129 since I have a direct ancestor of that name in the same state, NC. I didn't see the wife's name so perhaps it was added later? At any rate, things don't add up. This man could be mine or maybe not. Mine did live at the same time, could be a son, no clue at all.
The wife however, was born when this man was 40 years old, and died when she was three years. (maybe this is my answer) The man's death date is not the confirmed one for my ancestor and my ancestor doesn't a have any clue as to a birth date. They could be the same but mine has no clue of a wife - who died before he did. I have the guardianship records for MY Frederick - no son named James (died TN) as with this Barfield-129. Not sure if any of his chn went to TN and should check. Surely there is a connection somehow but unknown what.
I don't know how to best handle this. Create my own and reference -129 in the bio as a possible family connection?
Next problem is that I have so many to gedcom clean up that I'm going in circles trying to get them all done. Is there an efficient way to do this?
Thanks for the input!
