Wish your ancestors had less common names so you could more easily spot them in records?

Have I got a deal for you!  You can adopt these orphaned profiles that have no sources, and finally make some progress in your research.

Rhadamanthus Wyatt (died in 1912)

Galusha March (born in 1895) from Pennsylvania

Wealthy Valentine (1820 - 1835) from Tioga County, New York (could he be that wealthy relative you've been looking for?)

Wyoming Dobson from (you guessed it!) Wyoming

You're on!  I'll take Rhadamanthus -- can't wait to see how the census-takers mangle that one!  :-)

Bonus!  Found duplicates to merge.  *mixed feelings*
Now I'm curious, Nan.  What variations did you find in the census?
Not much, so far.  I've only looked at a couple, plus the marriage record.  That first H in his first name gets left out; and in the 1870 census he's Rudy.

I really expected worse, with what I've seen happen to much simpler names.  But -- more census years still to look at!  There's hope!  ;-)

I'm not in the adopting mood at the moment. But I am doing sourcing for this month.

I sourced Galusha March. Added wife and children from census. Gasp! There's even a Galusha March Jr., of all things. And a son by the name of Carl St. Elmo March. And a sister with the prosaic name of Alice.

I'm happy if someone wants to take over from there.

I'm always curious about unusual names (can't imagine why!), and I wonder where the parents came up with the names.  St. Elmo?  Do you think Alice felt left out by gettting such a plain name?
We don't know Alice's middle name. Perhaps she had uniqueness bestowed upon her there.

St. Elmo is the patron saint of sailors. And many other things:

Did Wealthy get his "wealth" by bank robbing?  He stayed so incognito that  Familysearch.org couldn't find him in a general search.  (Just to save others from doing what I did).

Sorry. I forgot to mention that I couldn't find Wealthy in FamilySearch either. At least nothing conclusive. I think part of that is because Wealthy only lived from 1820-1835, and those early Census records didn't contain as much information.
Could be "she," by the way.  The only Wealthy I have in my records was a female.
