No, Peter Oneal Powell (nick named P.O), mothers name was Nancy. He's my Great-Great-Grandfather. Peter's daughter; Sarah Leticia (Powell) Ragsdale, is my Great-Grandmother, (nicknamed Lettie). Lettie's daughter Mary Ida Mae (Ragsdale), (Melton), Griffith, is my Grandmother. She changed her name to Mae when she married my Grandfather, Lonnie Melton. Grandma Mae and my father, gave me all the above information while they were alive and so far have been able to verify it through the various sources. When we get into the 1600 to 1800 generations we found a conflict in Mary O'Neal's data. One entry shows her born in 1675, marrying John Powell born 1675, they had one son named Elias, no birth date shown. Another source shows 1st husband as John Powell Jr. The second entry for Mary O'Neal shows a birth date of 1712, marrying John Powell ll born 1686. This marriage shows four sons with Elias born about 1754. All the information on John Powell ll seems to source check fine, but, there is no source data on Mary O'Neal other than an assumption that she has a brother.
