Looking for parents of Robert C. Wright of Newberry, SC born c.1820

I've come to a bit of a standstill in my project.  I have traced back to Robert C. Wright born circa 1820 in South Carolina.  According to census records, Robert (or at times RC and Bob) spent most of his life in and around Newberry, South Carolina.  He married Margaret Ann Neel, also of Newberry, South Carolina.  They had several children beginning with John N in 1844 and concluding with Thomas Richard (my ancestor) in 1857.  I have no record of Robert's birth or death; however, I do know that he was alive as of the 1880 census. However, based on his reporting in a census record, Robert's father was born in Ireland and his mother was born in South Carolina. Any help or direction would be most appreciated.

Levi, could he have been born in 1823? I am asking because I have been looking into finding any information that might help you find his parents and the rest of his children.
