Who Was Thomas R Tharp's Father?

Several profiles for Thomas R. Thomas have been merged. One merged file said that Thomas was the son of Solomon Tharp and Hannah Tate.  During the process, the wrong Solomon was attached as father, so that connection has been removed, but the Biography still contains the information.

The DAR shows Solomon as a Patriot Ancestor, but it does not include Thomas as a son.

Is there any evidence that Thomas was the son of Solomon?

All those sources are highly derivative so rely on them with caution. If I were researching this line, I'd be seeking far more reliable and original  sources. Good luck.

There were 2 Solomon Tharps. 1 was born in NJ from New England ancestors (married a Hannah) and may have been in the Rev.  1 was born in DE from Eastern Shore of MD ancestors and married Hannah Tate, Quaker from DE, disowned for her marriage to Solomon, her mother a Dixon. Solomon and Hannah (Tate) moved to NC and other states, Solomon ending up in OH with son Levi Dixon Tharp who moved on to Cass MI, where his father joined him. Enter the DAR who mixed up the 2.

There seem to have been at least two Thomas R Tharps. One of them, my ggg-grandfather (1778-1862) is buried in Givens Chapel Cemetery, Pike Co Ohio.  The other left a will recorded in Hertford, NC in 1845.  As for the first one, my mother spent years trying to track down his parents with no success.  In her files, she left a copy of a note from a Tharp descendant written in the 1930s, saying, "There was a family tradition that there were seven brothers in the Revolution, and that David and Thomas names alternated by generations."  This doesn't correspond to the names listed in Solomon & Hannah's family.   Thomas R. Tharp from Ohio did have a son named David, and it's likely that his father's name was David too.  At least a couple of David Tharps appear in Revolutionary War records.  Perhaps one of them was a brother of a Solomon Tharp;  however, it seems doubtful that my Thomas R was Solomon's son.
