Can't seem to edit an 'open' profile

Question

I want to add spouse and children, but there isn't an option to 'add'.

In   the same family, I was able to edit 14 of 16 children to remove the incorrect middle name, but not the last two.  (See Gabriel and Henry, which don't have an 'edit' option on what looks like an open page.  Thanks.

Henry's profile should be opened since he was born in1815. Gabriel was born in 1818 so not quite 200 years ago. It can be left with Public privacy to be edited only by someone on the trusted list.

Try it again.  I just got access to edit.  I have found wikitree to be very slow at times today.  Maybe there are a lot of us on line.

Nope...didn't help.  After doing a little more reading, it looks like the privacy level is black rather than green for Christian, so I requested Trusted status from the profile mgr...hope she receives it.  However the privacy status for the two sons, Gabriel and Henry, are both green.  So if I understand how it works, I should be able to edit them...no?

I also came to the same conclusion after rereading the two names you gave.  I just looked at your connection page to them.  Good sleuthing.  But green means everyone can read everything but only the manager can change unless you are on the trusted list.  (I think)

The manager was last active in 2013 so they may not answer. If you don't get a response within a week you can send in an unresponsive manager request. http://www.wikitree.com/contact/upm/Baumann-21

Oops, now you have run into profiles that are not actually open. They are Public (and there are multiple privacy levels of Public)

There is only one privacy level that anyone can edit without being on the Trusted List. I've no idea why the privacy level is set so for these few, but only a Profile Manager can change the privacy level.

As this is a collaborative site, you can ask the Profile Manager to add you to the Trusted List, in order to continue making edits.

I just checked and it's an open profile, so the edit button is there and after clicking that you can add children.  If you still get a different result, I'd be surprised.  Plus the profile's date of birth is over 200 years old, so it really should be an open profile.

Looks like the 200 year limit has been followed to a T -- 200 years ago would be 1816.  All the siblings are open profiles except the one born in 1818 -- and, here is trouble -- two duplicate brothers born 1815, one of whom is green and one of whom is open.  

The big trouble is this:  the profile manager has not been active since November, 2013.  Therefore it will require a Leader to change the status of the two green profiles, and merging the duplicates will require a 30 day wait before the profile manager's non-response can be over-ridden.
