It appears that the family settled in Ohio. His widow, Mary Day, then married in his brother, who later died in Indiana.

Does the newspaper article, which I believe was written years later, have any Credence with SAR. No citations
Unfortunately, I have the article, it is not considered by SAR as an official record. There were also several incorrect references in the article where they indicated Mary Day married John instead of Simeon. There are no official records that Someone went by John. But then again this article was published many years later. Thank you for the response

Jonathan Marsh 1769-1799 was born in Westfield, NJ to John & Nancy Searing Marsh. Baptised in Westfield Presbyterian Church. Strangely enough, He married Mary Day in New York in 1788.  Mary Day 1773-1828 Was born in Chatham Morris, NJ. After they were married, they remained in (an area that today is considered NY) and had 2-sons, John 1794-1855 and Jacob D. 1798-1891. Jonathan died in Warren County, Ohio a year later in 1799. Why or how is unknown to me. It was a long move, probably by river and dangerous hardships as well as Indians. Mary Day Marsh married Jonathan's Brother John Searing Marsh 1769-1857 in 1801 and had six more children. This Marsh's line descends from Samuel Marsh who immigrated here in 1641 and lived in New Haven CT, Married Comfort Mann and had six children before migrating to the area today known as New Jersey. He wss one of the Original Elizabethtown Associates who pioneered Elizabethtown (Elizabeth) today. These 80 families established Elizabeth, Rahway and Westfield where most remained for over 4-generations and during the Revolutionary War. Several books about this area are available about this area which included reference to many of the 36 Marsh men who were soldiers during thr therevolutionary war including Jonathan's Father and Abraham Clark (cousin) who signed the Declaration of Independence. This Marsh  clan were puritans who started migrating east and setteling along the boarder of Ohio and Indiana that had no boarders at the time (frontier) and another 3-5 generations are buried in Ohio and Cass Co. Indiana where Jonathan's son John Marsh who married Catharine Leave are buried at 12 Mile Indiana.
