in The Tree House by Doug Lockwood G2G Astronaut (2.7m points)
Good morning WikiTreers! 3:55am edt here in Hampton Roads Virginia, where the weather is hot, sticky and uncomfortable. I'm tucked away in my room with the A/C set to maximum, a box fan and a ceiling fan. (Landlady I rent a room from refuses to turn on the A/C in the rest of the house). I'm still kinda new to WikiTree, but have figured out my way around most things and have had some awesome help from the majority of the Leaders that I have dealt with, thus far. One not so much, but discouragement to me is a challenge to keep going, no matter what anyone thinks.

I am currently working out Wheeler confusions in my my direct line and that that are relative to it, offline. Getting ready to put together an index for a free book through Archive.org (that version did not come with an index, don't know if the actual book did or not). Still trying to figure out my mother's mother's name (lol, when you only know someone as Grandma (insert married last name), it's kind of hard to research them). And still trying to find a Grandparent in another line.

But today...I'm trying to find the Free Space Profile I created (didn't write down the name, don't remember what it was called or what I created it for, though once I find it, I will remember all of the above...one of those "OH YEAH!" things...and trying to find where I found the answer to how to find it (watched profiles brought up nothing)...and now I'm going to go post a question on that...lots and lots and lots of searching...fun time :)

Stay cool, do not leave pets or children in your car while shopping and bring your pets inside...it's HOT out there :)

Update: Found the Free Space Page! :)
Hi T--
I'm glad you found your free space page.  However, this is just a clue to find recently entered items.  Go to the heading "my wikitree" at the top of your navigation page or profile.  Scroll down to the heading "contributions".  Click on that and it will list all of what you have entered, starting with the most recently edited items.  Hope this helps you in the future.  Click on what looks like what you are looking for and it will take you to that entrance.
Yes, thank you. I did know about that one, but going through the list of over 500 entries...no. I forget how I found it, but there was a link at the top of whatever page I was looking on and the link to me to the page where it was listed. I bookmarked it so I won't forget again. I do use that for more recent things, but that far back, not so much.

Nice photos.  The top one resembles some buds one might see in Nederland indoors.  :D

Love the photo´s really amazing ! The laptop I normally use is driving me crazy, constantly freezing as soon as I tried to view an image, so I´m now trying a total scan for malware or virusses, which is taking ages, so working on my ´golden oldie´ linux (Ubuntu) laptop now .

Instead of postponing (again and we did it for a few years in a row already, because alway when we are planning home improvement projects like this, no matter what or when the weather all of a sudden is turning boiling hot )  so we decided to go ahead and just start renovating the bathroom, so a busy week and of course it was really hot this week, but we´re making progress ...placing the ceiling  tomorrow :)

As I've mentioned before, I'm a member fo Toastmasters and tomorrow is TLI (Toastmasters Leadership Institute) where the officers for each club get together to be trained on what each of them are expected to do for the club during the next 6 months.  It's important for new officers but for long-time officers such as myself it's a way to review and make contact with old friends and new members.

WikiTree wise I hope to work some more on my Miller line some more as well as try out the new search links.  Now I'm familiar with Ancestry.com and FamilySearch, but it will be nice to not have to type the stuff in on FamilySearch and to try some other sites I'm not so used to.

As for my wife and I, we're intending to take some old clothes to a thrift store and then have super at a middle eastern restaurant we like.

I'm here in Spain and it's full of tourists.  There's more tourists this year since the resorts in Tunisia, Algeria and those places have virtually become no-go zones.  Turkey is also no-go and Italy and Greece have migrant issues.  All the jet-setters are going to Crimea in Russia now, the "new St. Tropez".

Meanwhile, I'm just happy tending a little the garden behind the rectory and taking care of a couple of groups of homeless kitties.  Poor kitties (they need a home/s!)

Let's see. Weekend.

  1. Applying for jobs (this is really a daily thing)
  2. Cleaning
  3. Looking up more info on my family and adding to WikiTree
  4. Waiting eagerly for NYC Dept of Vital Records to send me the certificates I ordered... well, hopefully they do. I know it might be next week or even later, but I still hope each day for it to appear. Ordered the marriage certificate for George John Carrier [ Carrier-842 ] + Beatrice Rita Schilb [ Schilb-4 ],  the birth certificate for Cristina V Drozda/Drosda (Drosda-1), and the death certificates for Josef Drozda (Drosda-2) and Anna Hoffman (Hoffman-4381).
  5. Looking for someone to use for part of the application for becoming a certified genealogist (the search continues!)
  6. Maybe playing a certain popular phone game that includes wandering the streets

Weather is terrific in Devon (England). Just stripped the last of my broad beans (pounds of them). Redcurrants are still going strong.

I guess you won't need to convert that into kilos anymore!  :D
You think it will ever happen? (Not that most of us ever changed to kilos).
...maybe not, my father always referred to produce (vegetables, etc.) volume in messes, bunches, baskets, bushels, bales and tons.  :)
Tons? That's on a different scale from my garden!
...Now that I think about it the only thing that may have been measured in tons around our place was the yearly chicken manure that was brought from our cousins' chicken houses.  :D
Think zucchinis!!
Yes, they are doing well too. I call them courgettes :-)

I love seeing what everyone is doing on the weekend and some are even overseas!!!

I am recovering from some surgery this past Tuesday and taking it easy.  I have been going back and forth on my Watchlist and adding sources as I find a profile without any sources.  I get either tired or bored too quick and right now I should be napping but here I am on the Internet!!!  My husband and daughter are making a hot dog and potato salad type dinner tonight.  They went grocery shopping last night since it was our Social Security payday this week.  I feel good enough to do a little laundry with help since I can't lift anything.

Have a great weekend everyone!  I need to go take a nap right now!  I tire myself out too much!!!  Lol!

Please define "overseas" :-)
Sorry!  I guess it is a military term but it means other countries than your own.  I like that we can talk to people from other countries on Wikitree!!!
I agree completely. I was just quibbling over the USA-centicism.

We, in the mid south of the United States, are dealing with exceptional high temperatures and humidity. We had heat indexes around 105. Then the rain comes along and lowers the temps but raises the humidity!! Anyone else experiencing unusual high temperatures?? I hope you are bringing in your pets and plants, way too hot for both.

Enough on the weather... In addition to my greeting, and rangering, I am still working on adding our veterans and military ancestors (Military and War Project) to the appropriate categories. Also adding to their profiles various sources and links to obituaries, news articles etc.and adding their ranks too. Been getting a lot of help from John Vickery and Sandra Davidson- Thank you both!!
