Help please connecting Simon + Catherine McDermott Griffin to ancestors Patrick + Michael Griffin

I have various sources for Simon Griffin (1852-1904) and Catherine McDermott Griffin (1864-1921) - US census and marriage records as well as grave stone images.

I am told by family that there is a connection to ancestors Patrick Griffin and Michael Griffin both river boat pilots of Scattery Island Clare County Ireland.  I have not found any sources yet to support that connection history.

Any help available would be most appreciated.

Thank you,

Leah

On Facebook there is a closed group which has several members very keen on Scattery Island Griffins : IGP's County Clare Ireland Genealogy Group. You must apply yourself, but mention your interest & my name?

---

Bridget Griffin was the daughter of Michael Griffin and Mary Crotty. Born about 1850. Married Stephan James Crotty.  Stephen James Crotty ?  No James but doesn't mean he did not exist.

Vicki Downey Novak : Another Bridget Griffin was the daughter of Sinon Griffin and Nora (Anne) Crotty.  This Bridget was born about 1881.  No James but does not mean he does not exist.

I don't know if you've been in Ancestry but I did a search there and found a Michael Griffon 1808-1890 but the tree is private.  If you have ancestry, you can try to contact the tree owner for more information.  Sorry that is all I could find.

Thanks.  I'll give the Ancestry a try sometime.  (So far I've been using less expensive sources.)  I've managed to find info on Micheal Griffin 1808 - 1890:

http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/genealogy/don_tran/fam_his/scattery/griffin_pedigree.htm

I've also found one source that a Patrick Griffin exists in 1843 (he was paid as a river boat pilot),

http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/genealogy/don_tran/fam_his/scattery/windsor_castle.htm

Other than a non-specific reference to "Patrick" as a father to Simon (1852-1904) in Simon's death certificate, I'm still working on finding solid Simon - Patrick - Micheal connections.
