Eliza Lucas, of Revolutionary War fame, was the daughter of George Lucas, the Governor of Antigua. Her ancestral line appears to stop with George Lucas, of England.
Has anyone found ancestral information for George Lucas or Eliza Lucas? If so, your information would be of enormous interest to a great many people. Eliza, who married Charles Pinckney, imported indigo from the West Indies, a color of choice used by George Washington in his indigo and tan uniform. George Washington considered himself a friend of hers, and served as a pallbearer at her funeral.
An enormous amount has been written about Eliza, but so far, nothing I have seen breaks the brick wall to her ancestors.
