Hi Jessie and welcome to Wikitree.Firstly you need to go and browse in the help tag to the top right side of your page.If you open it you will find many different topics that you can use to do some of your own research!! If you do not succeed there you may opt to ask for help by maybe knowing where your ancestors imegrated from and dates will also help you a lot.Then try and see if you can get hold of a project leader if you know where your family might have originated from and then ask for help in your profile page.As i am a rookie still it surely helped me and the geneologists are a friendly bunch of people.Hope i could be of help to you!!
