Switching mom and pop.  Best way I found was to write down there profile  numbers, delete them and add them back on the right place using the number.
Hey Dorothy or anyone! I need some help with how to guide a Profile Manager.  The person(s) have first name of "Mother of" and "Father of"...what's the right entry to replace this so the database will quit kicking out an error on it?
Can you give me a profile ID of the profile saying mother of etc. please so I can check that out.
Oh I found one, and I saw your post requesting for assistance in resolving the problem. I thought it was spot on.Well done!!

Can you find out why they aren't putting the real names in as parents, or do they just don't know. If they don't know the parents next time it would be best to leave the parents blank, rather then make unknown profiles .

But for now they can put unknown as first name, and put the surname of the children in the LNAB, unless evidence shows the children were adopted or something. See if that helps.

Great job moving up on the team results, everyone!!!

Go Southern Super Sweepers!!!

Congratulations Southern Super Sweepers!!!!  I am so glad we got 5th place!!!  Sorry I couldn't contribute more time to the event but one of our 1st cousins just found out she had cancer, and is taking it pretty hard.

and Thank you Dorothy for setting the example and leading the team with 1,897 corrections made!

Great job, team!!!
Congratulations!!!! Great work!!
Dorothy, thank you for the great job you did. It was fun and I learned a lot.

What does. "go to green box, and click on WikiTree" mean?  I don't see a green box.  Is there a link to it?
by G. Moore G2G6 Mach 3 (38.7k points)

Hi G. Its right up top of our project page at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Southern_Super_Sweepers

A green box with this comment in it:

This page is part of the Database Errors Project. Here is the latest update: April 16th 2017.See WikiTree+ for custom reports and statistics.

You want to click on WikiTree+

Step 2: Next go down the list until you see Tree Errors

Step 3: Under that look for Location and click on that. Put in the state you want to work on.

Your team is up to 105!!
Awesome, Way to go "TEAM"!!!  Thanks Eowyn!!
OK, I'm just getting up -- 4 AM. I don't know if I know how to do this, but I will start trying!

Good Morning. Just go slow and easy, maybe take the easy stuff first like I suggested on our WikiTree profile: Space:Southern_Super_Sweepers !!

I haven't slept yet! LOL  Took a while to figure out where and how to make all this work, but having fun now cleaning and fixing profiles!  :)

Go Team Southern_Super_Sweepers !
I bet none of us will really get our normal sleep!! But this is a once in a few months event that we all work together cleaning up!! If you are enjoying this maybe you will join the monthly challenges they have here on WikiTree!! Those just last a day though and it goes pretty fast. I will need to find out where we are at, statics wise. but don't forget you can check your own progress on our page by your name where it says "See your work"!!
I've had a ball today; fixed 153 errors; but now it is time to go have some family time. I will try to get back on tomorrow or tomorrow night. In the meantime, Keep on keeping on. I know we are making a difference one profile at a time.
Thank you so much Geneadive! I appreciate that!!! Looks like you did a total of 153 error corrections, way to go!!!! :)
I admit I slept first, then started work. Had to take a break to tag lambs,  but trying to make steady progress.
Thanks Edie for the update!!!

Is there a list of errors for Kentucky?
by Martha Riley G2G6 Mach 1 (17.0k points)

Yes. Here's how to find your state on the Database errors report above:

Step 1: go to green box that is on top of our Southern Super Sweepers project page, and click on WikiTree+

Step 2: Next go down the list until you see Tree Errors

Step 3: Under that look for Location and click on that.

Step 4: Next where you see Slovenija(which is a country), take that out and put in Kentucky

Step 5: Now click on Location Errors. Now look to right; you will see a spread sheet that will appear with all the errors on it.

Thank you! Had a nap and some exercise and ready to go again at it.
I haven't slept yet! LOL
I had a question as to why if you are working on one state you get other states in the mix. The best answer I can see is that a person may have been born say in Texas but moved to South Carolina so the feed brings up South Carolina as well for that family. Same thing with the death situation. One might pass away in one state but was buried in another to be with a spouse or their children. So yes there is a mix of states within the one state you may have pulled up on the database errors report.

Oh we are looking good, thank you my team mates!!!! WE are sweeping up a storm. You know they say spring showers bring May flowers, well it is raining cats and dogs here in Tennessee (with thunder and lighting), so I had to step away for a bit, but wow, you all are doing an awesome job here!!

In about 40 minutes I will be representing you all on the live YouTube Hangouts chat hosted by Eowyn, Julie and Mags!! I could not be prouder...anything you would like me to say on your behalf?????? Anyone win a T-Shirt yet??

Again I can not thank you all enough for all the errors you are cleaning up and for your time and energy in this endeavor.

GO "Southern_Super_Sweepers" !!!!

Concerning internet and Wikitree page problems today:

Well I learned that WikiTree (as a whole) had major problems with the server because of the high rate of participants and page changes etc. I believe they have a handle on it now and it should work better.

This happened last fall as well for the same reason. I am hopeful you will not be distracted and keep on working thou this as a lot of us have been doing and will continue to do to try to make this "Clean a Ton" a success. The WikiTree team expressed an appreciation of all that you folks are doing and I thank you as well. KEEP UP Clean Sweeping!!!!!!

Oh, I missed seeing you! Too bad.
That's ok, it will be posted on Youtube. I will try to get a link after its posted.

By the way thank you for your 153 corrections so far!! Way to go Martha!!! Thank you :)

Stats update, we have completed 589 error corrections!!! Thank you!! :)

Our top team contributor is .....

Ok team, Llets see if we can double that now... anyone up for the challenge???

Hate to say "good-bye," but we're leaving on vacation early in the morning, so I've got to quit. It was fun today! Good luck on the remainder of the challenge. We've got a hard-working team and a great leader!

Anybody else up at 10 a.m. EDT and working? We're slipping in our sweeping a little, but I'm going to keep doing what I can.
by Edie Kohutek G2G6 Mach 9 (98.0k points)
Good Morning Southern Sweepers,

I am working for a few minutes this morning, before I join my family for some afternoon fun.

Let's get-er done one error at a time.
I was on early this morning then was away from my desk for awhile, but back now. We should pick back up again!!
Got a late start after church and yardwork.  I am tackling some of the tougher issues today, like cleaning up profiles after merges and people that appear too old or young.  I don't think that I will reach the 1,000 error fixes that the leaders are doing but what the heck.  It is fun figuring out some of these North Carolina families that I am working on.
Well, we appreciate whatever fixes you can make. Its all about cleaning up WikiTree, and for you, cleaning up North Carolina!! Way to go G!!  Also "Thank you" for tackling the tougher issues, they take longer but the results will definitely assist any researcher in the future looking for their ancestors!!

Hi,

I just started working for this morning.  I've been working on 603 errors in North Carolina.  The first six I've worked on were ALL alread done by me on Saturday or Sunday.

Why are they still showing on the errors list?  Previously, when I refreshed the page the ones I had updated as fixed were no longer on the list.

This is slowing me down.

Just check your contributions link from the "My Wikitree" dropdown list. It takes a little longer, but you can see where you left off. Don't know if you already knew that. Hopefully the page will start refreshing appropriately.

All the errors listings are including errors that are already fixed.  Why?  It's difficult to find errors to fix this way.
by Alison Broadway G2G3 (3.2k points)
I am sorry, but it's the same for all of us. The tech team is working overtime to try to update as much as computer programing that is possible at this time. Unfortunitely that is out of my expertize, please hang in there though... just 12 more hours!!!

Wow, I have never made this many edits in such a short period of time.  It was fun.  I hope the WikiTree+ link stays up.  It really heled find out where and what needed to be worked on.  I used it last night to summarize the number of profiles in my family line by generation and to see where my gaps and errors are.  I have also learned a lot about errors in Gedcom imports, location conventions, Find a Grave strengths and weaknesses. I ran accross a few common North Carolina Wikitree researchers.  Mostly positive feedback from profile managers.
by G. Moore G2G6 Mach 3 (38.7k points)

That's awesome "G"!!  Yes the WikiTree+ link will stay up and from what I thought I read, updated!! Thank you again for the hard work and enthusiasm you had and still have for wanting to correct errors and make WikiTree more efficient.
