Site problems [closed]

I have been trying to add a few new profiles but when I click on the add button I sometimes get to a page to check possible matches and sometime get to a page that says page has moved to here, with a hyperlink that takes me to the home page for the site. If I get possible mathes then after checking and clicking the add profile button I also get the hyperlink to the home page.

I have entered the details now four or five times for some of the new profiles and only got one to work.

This last time I get a message that my email address has not been confirmed as well though it has been.

Is this a site problem or something my end?
closed with the note: Just so people do not waste time and effort on this I am closing the question. The temporary problem seems to have solved itself, should it reoccur then I know what information to collect and pass onto the team.

I am not a technician but I have not had that issue, so it might be on your end.

Can you copy and paste what the actual hyperlink is?

Also, have you tried logging out refreshing your browser and logging back in?

What browser are you using?

It seems that WikiTree thinks you aren't logged in for some reason.

using chrome and usually half a dozen wikitree tabs open at any time and they have been for over a month, all the other tabs work as expected even when iI have been geting the errors. This only started a few hours ago, I have added dozens of other profiles with no problem. From the start page, when I get there I can view my profile and watch list etc. so it seems to know I am logged in.

I tried adding one of the ones I had problems with and it loaded OK this time so I did not get the hyperlink yet I'll save it if I get the problem again.

If nobody else has experienced problems today then I will assume it is something my end, I know CME's can have strange effects on my satellite link, I shall go and peruse my server logs.
Hi R.,

Users on satellite internet connections had trouble maintaining logins a while back, but I thought we fixed that issue. Still, I'd suspect that this is related.

I'm not sure what this is: "page that says page has moved to here, with a hyperlink that takes me to the home page for the site."

If you see that again, I'd really like to hear more details.

Thanks,

Chris

I am not sure of a specific problem, but I have experienced this, and unfortunately, learned to scroll all the way to the top of the page where a highlighted section states (usually but not always) what the problem is.  My usual error is I put the place of marriage in the field for the date of end of marriage.  It's usually something silly that I overlooked or forgot to enter like gender, or first name because I am too busy entering the date fields.

Another suggestion:  Before you create a profile, do a quick check to see if there is possibly one already created, because when you get to that possible match screen and choose one, all the data you entered will not transfer to the original profile, and you will need to go back in once the profiles are linked and add the information/corrections that you have.

This seems something different as I never get to see the error message box, everything I typed is deleted and I only get the home page. The second suggestion is a good one, I already do that.

Might make sense to a windows user, I have run my system 24/7 for nearly 6 months, rebboting is something that is hardly ever need with Linux. The problem seems to be a transient one that has gone away for now.

I'm sticking with the idea from Chris for now, and if it reoccurs then I'll save the url this time. Thanks for the suggestion though.
