Ever wondered how to become an Arborist and help this tree of ours?

If you meet the following criteria, just respond to this G2G and we will get you started!

  1. You have signed the Honor Code and been an active WikiTree member for at least three consistent months (meaning you have been contributing and performing merges).
  2. You should be confident you can merge profiles in an efficient and accurate manner, with a focus on accuracy and sources over efficiency.
  3. You should be actively participating on a regular basis.
  4. Reviewed the project page and posts in the G2G (duplicates, merges, arborists).
  5. You should have already completed at least 100+ merges outside your family. (Contributions will be reviewed by the project leaders.) We are looking for merges going into the correct LNAB & lowest numbered profile with the correct Last name at birth, no redirects (where possible), using correct naming conventions (Dutch names, Czech names, and so on), editing the biography after completing a merge by removing duplicate information after every merge (depending on privacy settings), posting comments why you think two profiles are duplicates.
  6. You can take direction and redirection well, as merges can be a sensitive area for many WikiTree members.

Please add me to this project.  I believe I have met all the criteria.   Thank you.
I'd be interested in assisting this project.  I've already been working on a number of duplicated family lines that I've found on WikiTree, so I'm pretty sure I meet the requirements.
i would like to join WikTree Arborists, I have read the qualifications. I began working on Data Doctors weekly challenges about three weeks ago, during which time I came across many duplicate profiles

I've read over all the requirements.  I think I have everything in order to become part of the Arborists Project. I am on the MatchBot Monitors Project working on merges there.

I posted before but I never heard anything back.

Thanks!

I am not sure how many merges I have proposed or done, but it seems a lot. I have certainly cleaned up large number of other peoples merges that have been left in a mess after merging. Just wondering if I am due for a badge yet.

I'd love to help with this project! I have found quite a few duplicates in my general searching and have also helped to merge many others!!
I enjoy it, is that weird?

Hi Sarah, I'd like to join the Arborists. I could help with Québécois profiles, and other places where there are not too many volunteers, as needed.

May I join this project?  I've wanted to be an Arborist for a while and I think I've got enough merges under my belt!  :)

I think I have finally met all the requirements to join !! If not I'm sure it's in the 100 merges outside of my family which I am still working on. Let me know for sure please.

I'd like to become an arborist-after a few months here, I think I've completed quite a few merges and enjoy (trying) to get the tree duplicate-free.

I would like to officially be an arborist.

I have proposed a lot of merges, cleaned up merges after others have completed them without removing duplicate information, as well as completing over 100 merges that are outside my family.  I work on Data Doctor suggestions weekly, so I am definitely active on a regular basis.

Thank you.

Hi guys. I'd love to join the Arborists project. It's become a really enjoyable little habit to jump on Wikitree and help with merging duplicates. Beats sudoku hands down! I've completed about three hundred merges outside my family and suggested about a hundred more. Cheers for all your hard work guys! -Winston

I would like to become an Arborist please. Currently working on Serious Data Problems for the England Project, proposing and completing merges of all date ranges and researching and completing unmerged matches primarily for the England project.

Thank you :)

I looked up this post as I came across someone else with an Arborist badge and wondered just what it meant. Guess I've been doing this for a couple of years now, so I went back in the records and checked just how many I've worked on.

Since June 2017 I've proposed 122 merges, merged & tidied post merge 61, and tidied a further 66 where the basic merge had been done but the resulting profile had not been cleaned up.

Does this meet your criteria?

I'll keep plugging away at it anyway, but it would be nice to have the badge to go with it and better still to have it added to my G2G notifications list.
