Looking for the parents of James Z. Bogart, b. 1821, New York New York

James Z Bogart, b. March 26 1821 d. March 28, 1881 m. Mary S Wilson,  appears as James (NMI), Jas L, James T, and James Y in various US Censuses. Was New York Police Captain 1857-1870 and led Broadway Squad against rioters in 1863 New York Draft Riots. Other jobs related to fish store and oyster stand. The only reference to his parents lists them as from New York, New York, but provides no names. Siblings are unknown. This information is from Ancestry and Family Search

James Z. Bogart and Mary S. Wilson had sons, Horace T., Chas W., and James Henry Bogart. Mary's middle name was Smith. 

Horace T. Bogart married Nellie M. Brown 12 Oct 1887. Chas W. Bogart married Anna M. Fountain 24 Sep 1878. James Henry Bogart married Mary Byrne 18 Apr 1900. These three sons of James Z. Bogart all married in Manhattan, New York, NY. 

Sorry, I did not find the names of the parents.

I have found that the Z stands for Zimmerman per his death certificate. No idea of where that came from. James Henry was born in 1843 and first married Kate Morris Blauvelt in 1866. She died in 1894 so Mary Byrne would have been his second wife. He died in 1921. Have a lead on the parents of James Z, but am still searching. Thanks for your response.
