ROCHE, TOM aka MURPHY, TOM April 20, 1934 to September 17, 2012 Born in New Haven, CT. Lived most of his life in San Diego, worked in radio and advertising until retirement. Survived by his sister Pamela Roche, daughter Robyn D'Amore, son-in-law Anthony D'Amore and granddaughter Ava D'Amore. A memorial service will be at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery on Oct. 17th at 11:30 a.m.

ROCHE, THOMAS C. " TOMMY" Thomas C. "Tommy" Roche passed away suddenly on September 17, 2012, in San Diego, CA. He was 78. He was born on April 20, 1934, and grew up in New Haven, a son of the late Raymond and Helen Gorman Roche. He is survived by a daughter, Robyn D'Amore and her husband Anthony and cherished granddaughter, Ava in San Diego, CA. He is also survived by a sister, Pamela Roche of New Haven, and a brother, Raymond Roche of Hamden. Tommy graduated from Hamilton Street Grammar School (skipping the 4th grade) and Wilbur Cross High School. Tommy joined the U.S. Navy during the Korean war serving as a Hospital Corpsman and Prosthetic technician. Upon discharge from the Navy, he attended the University of Connecticut at Storrs. While at UConn he was active on the campus radio station WHUS as radio personality, special events director, producing remote broadcast from various campus events and jazz concerts. He also was play-by-play announcer for all UConn basketball and football games. These experiences led Tommy to enter the broadcast industry. He lived most of his life in San Diego, CA working in the broadcast industry. A memorial service is planned for Tommy on October 17th at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego, CA 92106.
