matches don't show up in close matches when new profile has death date and close match doesn't

When I'm adding a new person and have entered a birth and death date, and there's an existing profile for the person with the same birth date and no death date at all, the existing profile doesn't show up in the "compare close matches" section. I can see not showing the other profile if it has a death year that's wildly different (though even then, that may be a case of one profile having the exact date and the other "after DATE"), but when the death date is blank and the birth date matches, I'd expect the profile to show up as a possible match.

When starting a new profile, some of us enter one date and check the match list before we enter the other date. That reduces the possibility of missing a good match.

Here's another ongoing G2G discussion that's related to this one: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/500702/changed-recently-process-similar-profiles-profile-entered
On my laptop, "compare close matches" is just off the bottom of the screen, so I try to remember to scroll down and look at it before I add the death date. But it's a pain, and I'd rather not have to. And when I'm adding from a GEDCOM import, I shouldn't have to remove the death date to check for matches.
