How to finish merging Ludwig-345 and Ludwig 507

Question

I started a merge between subject profiles, and have my Ludwig matched to both.  But I haven't got a clue where to go from here, and I am having trouble maneuvering through the program.  What happens now?

I have a question about the procedure as well

Setting up the merge   the newer entry is left and the older entry is right?

I initiated the merge but canceled it as I became confused about which one will be retained.  

Please clarify.

Georgia - are you trying to upload your gedcom and match the people to those Ludwigs?
