Unresponsive Profile Manager

I was blocked without notification - I then pointed this out was made live again. Was on over the weekend making changes

Yet got another message this morning 

Hello Sue,

As I have received no further communication from you I can only assume that you do not wish to manage the profiles you manage, so I will begin removing you as manager of all your Open and Public profiles so that others can complete merges. Your Private profiles will remain untouched. I will leave you on the Trusted List so you can still edit where required. You will also still receive advice emails about editing then done by others.

It is always preferable to have collaboration. Collaboration is not easy at times, but as long as there is respect for the possibility of alternative views differences can usually be ironed out. Should you wish to rejoin the WikiTree community and manage the profiles you are always welcome to request that. A manager is, however, expected to manage.

Who pays atttention to what is going on?  This is just one example of why I hadn't been on in several months.

I left you  messages on your profiles, as well as sending private messages and I waited patiently for a response which I never received. I waited patiently for three months and finally sumitted a form.

You asked who pays attention.  I do and I am trying to merge profiles into one profile as recommended by wikitree.

Hi Sue.....I have sent numerous messages over a 30 day period because I know you are active.   If you could just do a couple of merges Hanks Family, as stated in my note, I will do the clean up.  Thanks

To manage 14k profiles a PM needs to be checking in almost every day, there have been 7 requests on your profile since September for merge requests, most seem to be for multiple merges, there were probably lots more requests on the profiles involved.

If you have too many profiles to manage it is a good idea to remove yourself as manager until you reach a number you can cope with. The alternative is that people will submit open profile requests for lines of your profiles so they can do the required merges and Biography narratives.

There are many active users who pay attention, this is a mainly user managed site and the active users try to manage.

Sue  you were an unresponsive profile manger (please see the unresponsive profile manager paragraph below) and your profiles were opened.  It's unfair to ignore members e-mails and merge requests. You had 500+ proposed merges.

Downsizing your watchlist or adding others to the trusted list would have prevented this. I'm sorry it came down to removing you from your profiles but unfortunately it was a necessary action in order to faciliate all your pending merges. No one likes having to remove someone from their profiles.

Unresponsive Profile Managers

If they've made recent contributions but are not replying to any of your messages, be sure to include links to the Collaboration page and Honor Code in one of your messages to the manager, like you would do with Profile Managers who refuse to merge. If you've done this and they still don't reply, e-mail Paul Bech at paul@wikitree.com. We can put a temporary block on their account. At the time we do the block we'll send them a personal e-mail message and post a message on their profile saying that we need to get in touch with them and that they should e-mail us. This will usually generate a reply. If it doesn't, we will wait 30 days and then orphan all the Open and Public profiles that they were managing.
