Major W Hall b. 1814 TN, lived in Al. Parents and death ???

Question

Major W Hall ( Major is a family name and not a rank).  1840 census in Madison Co AL gives birth as 1814 in TN.  Married Marina Province.  He disappears from the records before 1870.

No parents and no death ???

Ideas welcome.

sorry - I don't know of any Majors (first or last name) in my Hall line. I looked up Major Hall in NPS database, only a NC Major F. Hall (I didn't search Union soldiers though, or Confederate sailors).

I suppose we might be related. I have a cousin named Major Edward Hall. He goes by Major. I don't have any info on your Major but you might try doing a search, starting with my g-g-g-grandfather, Jacob Hall (1755-1844), of Rutherford County, TN. If we are connected, you might find something that way.
