I can't find a marriage between Louisa Emily Ann Wilkins and Joseph Alfred Hammond. My Great Grandfather's death record (which I have) State his mother's name was Louisa Day. No marriage can be found between Hammond and Day. Louisa Emily Ann married William Henry Wilkins in 1888 and Louisa was widowed in 1893 upon his death in Armidale NSW. The first child born to Louisa Emily Ann and Joseph Alfred Hammond was born 1897 in Armidale NSW. Subsequent children were born in Tamworth. According to tree data on Ancestry, the marriage between Louisa Emily Ann and Joseph Alfred Hammond was on 15 Jul 1896 in Armidale but there is no mention of it in the index.

This has led me to enter the marriage in as: before 1897 and in Armidale (uncertain). Does this violate my honor code doing this?

Cite the Ancestry tree as your source, but leave it marked as uncertain (due to the quality [or lack thereof] of the source).

You could always add to the edit page of the biography a category called

=== Research Notes===

and put what you wrote above. That tells people what you did and where you searched and other pertinent info you gave.

At least you tried, that is all we can ask for!! Plus you have all the other sources!!!!

Yes, ive packed it with as many sources as possible. Including Louisa's obituary which lists every child born between Louisa and Joseph with the addition of one that was not. Her son Jerry (which I believe to be a nickname for James) who was the son of Louisa and William Wilkins.

Will add the research notes. Ive done all I can.
Sounds like a brilliant bit of work.
Nice profile John - you sure tried and you never know - a source still may be out there to be found - move on to a different part of your tree and come back and see if there are new sources that may have been overlooked before after a while - it really helps to get away and come back sometimes
Thankyou everyone.
