How do we convince profile managers stop rejecting obvious duplicate profiles?

Captain Marshall has two wives named Elizabeth Markham attached to his profile.  One has sources and the other is unsourced.  WikiTree users have politely asked, "The two Elizabeth Markhams that are attached as his wives do not appear to be the same person. Could it be that one is connected to the wrong husband? (2016)

The two wives have twice been proposed in a merge (2017 and 2018) and yet the managers refuse, because the duplicate entry " does not include parental information or marriage date."

Can the profiles be merged without the approval of one of the profile managers, or may they continue to reject the merge?

Sometimes you just have to proceed, because one of the PMs just doesn't understand . . .  A year is more than adequate.  I've merged the profiles.

Thank you, Darlene.  I take it hat you have the capability to add yourself as profile manager.  I am not sure how you do it, but so glad you can.  If there is some way that I could do the same, I would.  I have profiles that have been recommended by me that stay on my list forever because the profile managers will not approve the merge.  They are not in open status so they do not default after thirty days and so I can never merge them and get them off my list.  And, then there are those that reject merges out of hand.....

Darlene is a WikiTree Leader which gives her a few superpowers. wink

If you're sure they are the same person, then edit each of them until they match, then propose the merge (be sure to backup your edits with sources)
