I have Joseph Wilson died in Burke Co., NC in 1810. He is married to Mary (unk) Wilson. Known children are Mary J., Sarah R. and Joseph L.. Joseph L. b.1808, Burke Co., NC is my direct line ancester. Also Joseph/Mary has a brother or son John Wilson who is married to Jane McDowell. I have much info on decendant Joseph L. of Joseph/Mary and am at a stand still on Joseph and Mary (unk) Wilson. Need help. Where did they come from? What happened to Mary after Joseph Died? Where are the girls? Anyone with the Wilson surname and Y-DNA, R1b1c7 please lets talk. If your Wilson surname is in Burke Co., NC in or about these stated times lets see if we can make a connection.

Bob,

I need a little more information from you so that I can try to help you. Was your Joseph L. Wilson married to Elizabeth D. Piver? If not what is your Joseph L. Wilson's wifes name. Give me more information about Joseph L. Wilson birthdate & death date and where. Also, you may want to try looking for your Joseph on the LDS Family Search website -https://familysearch.org/  this is a free search you will have to setup an account but there is a wealth of infromation such as death records, census, military record & birth records etc...

Hi Bobbie,

Happy new year. Thank you for replying to my query on Wikitree. Is Joseph L. Wilson married to Elizabeth Piver ? Yes, they were married in Burke Co. NC on 23 July 1827 and the info you found is on one my family trees at Ancestry. I have a lot of info on Joseph L. and his decendants. What I am looking for is any info I can find on his wife Elizabeth. I have only her name and her approximate birth date which I obtained from the census' after 1840 when they moved to Missouri from Tennessee. Also I am seeking more info on their parents. Joseph L's. parents are Joseph Wilson who died in 1810 in Burke Co., NC and Mary ( ???? ) Wilson. I have only little pieces of info on them which I obtained from court records of Burke Co.. I have no certain info as to where they came from before 1790 when they lived in Burke co., company 9 and 10. If your not familiar, a (company, I think maybe is a military term ) I assume it was like a township. I am hoping to find other Wilson's also who have had the Y-DNA test. Our line of Wilsons DNA is, R1b1c7. Bobbie thank you very much for the help. I need all the help I can get.

I adopted the profile of Margaret C. Lemmond whose mother was Harriet Means whose mother was Margaret Makemie Wilson who was born in Burke County, North Carolina about 1800.  Her father was Rev. John Makemie Wilson who was born in North Carolina in 1769.  Could this Wilson family be related to yours?

Denise,

Happy New Year. Thank you for replying to my query. The honest answer to your question is, I have no Idea if our Wilsons are related in any way. The names you mention have not come to me in any of my research. If this is any help I have a John Wilson born 1790. He is married to Jane McDowell . Her parents are from Haywood co.. I am not positive where he was born, but through Y-DNA testing it is proven that my Joseph Wilson who died in Burke Co. is either brother or father to John (middle name unknown) Wilson. Sorry I cannot be of much help. I wish you the best in your research. I will keep a record of these names and will contact you if any info is found. Thank you very much.

Bob
Happy New Year to you also!  I am not looking for more family for "my" Wisons, I thought perhaps they could be related to yours.  My Wilsons were in Burke County, North Carolina at the time you specified in your query.  It's possible your Wilsons and my Wilsons are branches of the same family.  :)  John M. Wilson's father was born in England, immigrated to Pennsylvania, then moved down into North Carolina.  His name was James Wilson, born about 1733 or so.  He may have immigrated with siblings or other family members.

I just thought it was a coincidence that you might want to look into.  :)

Good luck with your research, as well!  If I find anything more regarding your Wilsons, I will definitely let you know.

Denise
