My husband's family tree stops with John Lambe as well. My husband was adopted and was told his line was from Clan Lamont in Scotland. We has since found his father and haven't found any link to them yet. We stop with John. Unofficially, I see his parents coming from Glamis Scotland. Connected to Robert the Bruce. But I don't see any corroboration anywhere, so I don't think it's true. I would like to hear if you found anything.

Dear Jennifer - I'm afraid that I haven't uncovered any more information on John Lambe b. 1458 on Wikitree.  However, in a general internet search, I located this possibility [link below].  Have no idea how valid it is.  Perhaps you can find out more.

I have John Lambe (1458-1495) as an ancestor to my Great Grandmother Augusta Lamb Radcliffe. My research indicates 13 prior generations to one Roger de Leonne born in 1040 and whose father was a colleague of William the Conqueror.

I, too, am not convinced that the supposed connection of this Lamb(e) family ancestry back to the Lyon family, the Lords of Glamis in Angushire, Scotland.  That would appear to require that John Lambe of Trimley, co. Suffolk (c. 1458-1495) also was John Lyon, 4th Ld. Glamis (c. 1452-1500).  Genealogy for the latter does not list a son Richard Lambe (c. 1490-1580), and the "Visitations of Suffolk" clearly show this Richard as the son of the former.  Considering also that the two families were located near opposite ends of the British Isle, it seems unlikely they are the same person.  Still, I'd like to see more definitive results!
