Whenever you initiate a merge, the profile managers are notified by email.
Proposing a merge and completing a merge are 2 separate steps. Any full WikiTree can propose a merge, but some merge completions require that the person completing the merge be on one or both trusted lists.
Useful tips:
A proposed merge remains pending until managers/trusted list members from both profiles have given approval or until 30 days have elapsed. After 30 days, the pending merge is approved; however, a Public/Green or higher privacy level will prevent non-trusted-list WikiTreers from completing the merge.
Sometimes, managers may be inactive, unresponsive, or no longer members. You should check the manager's activity level to see if you may need to follow up with an Unresponsive Profile Manager request to open a private profile.
