Coming from such a historically important family, you'd think someone would have recorded his date of death?

I'm looking for the date of death for Morgan Lewis Livingston (born June 15, 1866), married to Ida Mary Lockwood (1872-1968). Morgan Livingston descends from the Robert Livingston family.  Everyone on my side of the family that would have known have passed on & I can find nothing in the well documented Livingston genealogy about the death of Morgan. Morgan is listed in the 1910 US Census as living in Manhattan NY, his wife is listed as a widow in a 1921 Trenton NJ city directory. I have posted his wife's obituary under her profile for what its worth (Lockwood-1030). Morgan's profile is Livingston 1125.

Assuming his death was in the US then there is definately some sort of record is only a SSDI and a death certificate.

The obitury for his wife or her grave may give clues about him. Census entries might help narrow a date of death, if she is a widow in 1940 then he died before then, narrowing it down to 10 years and a place will certainly help.
