Jane Wilson and Samuel Thornton?

I am trying to work out Jane Wilson who married Samuel Thornton on 1st June 1788 at St Leonard's, Shoreditch in London's Middlesex.

One of the witnesses at their wedding was an Edward Wilson.

So far I cannot really place her parentage, genealogical details and how was Edward related to her, etc.

It is believed that their son Samuel Thornton (born around 1783-1790) was my direct ancestor who died in Sydney Australia in 1842. His sister Jane Thornton married a Henry Hockings and they migrated to Australia after 1820s.

Thanks,
Darlene Thornton
