Parentage of Dr. James Blair, Archibald Blair and Christian Blair of VA

Hi,

Looking to correct the parentage listed for Archibald Blair. Currently the profile lists Robert Blair and Alvah Minister. I believe this to be in error. Sources I have indicate the parentage of the Blair children who came to Virginia (Dr. James Blair, Archibald Blair and Christian Blair who married John Munro) were Peter Blair and Mary Hamilton . Does anyone want to discuss? Thanks.

I have been told there was no such person as Alvah Minister but rather Robert Blair was a minister and somehow his occupation became his spouse's last name.
I have seen Rev Robert Blair's wife's name as Alvah Knox.  I don't know if this is correct.  Just putting it here in case someone is researching this person.
I have not yet researched this family but I have dna matches at Ancestry to this family.  25 cms

If you have some Blair let nes tangled together there, a good idea would be a Y-DNA test on a male Blair from each line. I have always been curious about my grandmother’s Blair line from south Perthshire. It is geographically unlikely that they spring from the Blairs of Blair in Ayrshire. It    has yet to be determined if they stem from the Blairs of Bslthayock either. Not being a Blair in the direct male line, I am getting my grandmother’s nephew to donate a Y-DNA sample. That should tell me a few things and should prevent our Blair line from getting tangled the way others have been,

My Name is David Alan Blair.  My father had told us when we were children that we are related to the founder of William and Mary College.  The history for James Blair founder is he did not have children.  That would leave James' brothers.  I would love to do a DNA test but being disabled I do not have the funds.  I know that my John Blair married to Susannah Ewing is in question per the Blair Society.
