Looking for parents of John B. or J.B. Stephenson\Stevenson born about 1815 in South Carolina.

Question

John B. or J.B. Stephenson is my great great grandfather. He was husband to Elizabeth (unknown maiden name) Stephenson born in Illinois, and father to Hugh Green Stephenson (my great grandfather) b1849-1850 and Sarah Ellen Stephenson b1854, both born in Arkansas. J.B. (age 45), Elizabeth (age 28), Hugh Green (age 10) and Sarah Ellen (age 6), are listed in the 1860 U.S. and Arkansas census, living in Pigeon Roost Township, Prairie County, Arkansas. John (age 30) and Elizabeth (age 16) Stevenson are found in the 1850 census in Caroline Township, Prairie County, Arkansas. I have been unable to match or trace any parents for John or Elizabeth. Any possible matching information or assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

Didn't find much, but on 1850 census a few doors away is Sarah Stevenson, possible Mother.

According to Prairie, Arkansas probate records, it's possible Sarah passed away around July 1855. On 14 December 1857, letters of administration were submitted for her AND for a Hugh Stephenson (possibly her husband?) who passed away in 1842.
