Shared Photo: George Alexander Neal after the war.

I wanted to share this family photo of George Neal with the community. Location: Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Date: about 1875.

George was Confederate veteran. At age 15, he lied about his age to get into the army and was assigned to the Bethel Regiment (1st, also called  11th NC). He was wounded (his left arm being amputated) and captured at Gettysburg and retired to the invalid corps. He was only 29 when he died. A drop-leaf dining table he made after the war is in my possession.
