Hi Lianne and thanks for all of your many contributions! The first scenario that comes to mind is dealing with Guests that wish to become Family Members. Normally, I will post a query that only a family member would know and placing this on a bulletin board may not be the best way to handle it due to someone with extensive research ability will study my family tree and likely find a correct answer. There is actually very little privacy in the world these days! I have been amazed in previous positions where I have been given authority to view credit card statements of individuals to find out if a transaction occurred prior to issueing a credit on a supposed transaction. Many people have this type of access without even being bonded. One solution would be to increase the privacy on family profiles; but, this creates a barrier to looking for potential matches (you can't check lineage). A sample query might be: Which relative of ours graduated with a degree in a particular field around a certain time? Please post the answer with their first name and surname initial on my profile's bulletin board. I would suggest the current method of private messages be re-examined, I already receive enough spam and junk mail :)
