What to do in merging when the LNAB is Unknown?

In trying to merge Mead-402 with Unknown-7544  the merge form will not allow me to choose her LNAB as Unknown.  Not sure what to do, as we do not know her LNAB, and it almost certainly was NOT Mead (her married name).  In fact, she was married twice, so her "current" name would be Ferris.  Has anyone else run across this? (for now, I made them an unmerged match)

Thanks in advance.

Hi Cynthia,

I just did the merge.

Do you remember if it gave you some error message or indicator when you tried to do it?

No error message.  Just a slightly different looking screen, with the usual green and yellow columns.  The difference was that there was no opportunity to choose "Unknown," no check box on that line.  The name over in the right column was "Mead," and I could not change it.

Thanks for your help!
Cynthia, that sounds like you needed to reverse the direction of the merge. When merging two different LNABs, the resulting LNAB is the one on the profile that you merge into.
