Hi Keith

I have some information on Mary Gill's family. I'm descended from her brother John. They both had a brother Thomas Gill who died at a very young age in Chacombe in around 1792. Other siblings were Elizabeth, Richard and Ann. Their parents John GILL and Elizabeth TOMLIN were married in Hellidon, Northants on 01 Nov 1781. Their father John Gill was born in Wardington, gained settlement in Chacombe by apprenticeship in 1783, but returned to Daventry late 1783 where most of the children were born before being removed back to Chacombe. I haven't found Mary's christening as yet, but perhaps you've found it, but she appears to have been born in ca1781-1782. Richard, John, Elizabeth and Ann were all christened at Holy Cross in Daventry between 1783 and 1790. According to 1791 Settlement and Removal Examination Orders for John Gill, which have in my posession, Mary appears to be the eldest child. I hope you find this information helpful. Hopefully we can share some information, so if you want, please email me at bonzaideas(at)iprimus.com.au with an appropriate family heading.

Cheers for now, Neil Gill
