hi there

my great grandfather harry christie smith was from scotland but born on a ship halfway between scotland and california. he studied art at the royal college in leichester and was a good frien of alfrd drury. harry married his first wife but lost her and his daughter during childbirth. he then moved to ghrahamstown south africa where he married my great granny clarice south. they had 3 boys, james, michael(my grandfather, and christie). i'm desperately trying to locate harry's birth certificate. he died in his 40's of stomach/colon cancer. he was also the art inspector in the eastern cape. i think his farthers name was john and i think he was a ships captain . harrys brother(james i think) was a reverend in aberdeenshire scotland. the names maryanne and jane aare very prevelant in or family. any help regarding harry christie smith would be greatly appreciated.

sincerely
