Thanks for your patience with these profiles. We just implemented a new system* to try to bring some order to the merging of New Netherland Settler families. A dozen duplicate profiles, each with the LNAB spelled or styled differently, is not unusual because many of these families went from patronymics only, to where they were from (van Meteren, for example), to a mix within the same generation, and French refugees having records made in Holland using Dutch conventions, Dutch conventions being Anglicized after 1674, etc., etc.
Patronymics alone can give us, for instance, Gerritse, Gerretse, Garritsz, Garitsen just to start. As I said, we just established a system to deal with this (in March) and right now have a massive backlog. We're making progress, and I hope that within 30 or 60 days we'll have a healthy collection of final WikiTree IDs agreed upon and new-found duplicates can be quickly merged into them.
Cheers, Liz
