Any info on George and Grace Barker who ended up in California

Question

They had a son William Barker probably born around 1923.  William Barker was in the military and spent some time in Cook County, IL.  I think George's wifes maiden name is Simmons.   Any help with that branch would be greatly appreciated.  I am having problems putting all the pieces together.

I did not find much, but for what it might be worth, I did find a tree on Ancestry that is unsourced except for a referece to:

"Descendants of John Simmons" by Ruth Maxwell Graham

I can't find details on this source. It states that Grace Simmons was born 29 Jul 1888 to Beecher Freemont Simmons (1857-) & Mary Louise Haggstruth(1861-);  & married  Barker, then Ernest Cryderman. Consider it a hint to check out.
