Hi my grandfather born around 1896 in Jamaica son of Adina Linda/Lindo.

He use the name norman pizza, his brother Lancelot Pezza, and halfbrother

R.G. Walker.  My problem is: \

According to the birth records in Jamaica/Ancestry.com, Family search all show

his name was Norman Lindo no Pizza mentioned.

How can I find his birth father?  The only factual records have been his mother's christening record, birth, and nothing else.  How could he come to the USA and change his name to Pizza and his brother use the name Pezza.

We have not located any birth records on Lancelot Pezza.  How could I find his birth?

Both were Roman Catholics but most of the info is conflicting and fathers name different.

thanks for any help.

Also we have not found a birth record of their brother Reginald George Walker born around 1899.  He was said to have been born in New Jersey or Pennsyl, however no legal birth nor christening found.

Thanks.

Jamaican Roman Catholic database at www.jamicanfamilysearch.com does not assist much I'm afraid.

Volume 1 (St.Patricks Church, Kingston 1833-1845) has a listing for

Lindo, Mary E 118,

Volume II (St Patricks Church) has no listings,

Volume III INorth and West Ends of Island 1836-1863 has no listings either, but

Volume IV (Preston Hills 1867-1875, Above Rocks 1839-1845, Friendship- fox River, Devon Pne 1880-1881 and St. Thomas ye Vale 1838) for the following listings

Lindo, Lucy 43

Lindo, Caroline 43

Volume V (Seafor Town -Savlamar, Black River -"success" and different estates in South Western part of Island from 1871-1896) has the following;

Lindo, Joseph 88

Lindo, Lydda 90

Lindo, Augustus 92

Lindo, Arthur 93

Lindo, James 96

Lindo, Emilia 106

Lindo, David 112

Lindo, Anne 127

Lindo, Alma 139

Lindo, Clementina 139

Lindo, Edmund, 139

Lindo, Juliana 163

Lindo, Eleonora 163

Lindo, James 179

Lindo, Timothy 190

Lindo, Christine 190

Volume 6 (Newcastle 1870 Dec 18 to April 30, 1905) records does not have anything.

Although this has not revealed any Pizza or Pezza or Norman Lindo the location of the Lindo's most known church in Jamaica may assit you.  There are also many records for Walkers on this site.

Hope it is of some assistance.
