I am looking to prove, disprove or leave as a maybe Richard Waters and Rejoice as the parents of Sarah Waters (1630-1700) who married Joshua Ray in Salem in 1651.

Savage says she could be the daughter of Richard. Beyond that I'm not finding anything as a legitimate, or even an "iffy", source. She is connected to them on Wiki tree.

The profile had her born in 1667 which can't be correct if she was married 1651.

I'm going to answer my own question, again. I think there is a 'direct psychic link' between asking a question and then figuring out the answer yourself.

Richard Waters left a will dated 16 July 1676 proved Nov 1677. In it he made provisions for his wife and left legacies to his children sons: William, Ezekiel, James and John, also daughters: martha, Abigail punchard, Mary English, Susana Pulsiver and Hanah Striker.  There is no mention of alleged daughters Sarah (Waters) Ray/Rea(very much alive at the time of the will) or Phebe (Waters) West (deceased at the time). Hi Anne B,

I found this birth record on Ancestry... Maybe a possible lead?

 Massachusetts, Town Birth Records, 1620-1850

Name: Sarah Waters
Event Type: Birth
Birth Date: 7 Oct 1636
Birth Place: Boston, USA
Father's name: Lawrence Waters
Mother's name: Anne Waters

Best,
Rob
But if she married Joshua Rea 26 Feb 1651, she would have been 15 years old.
Thank you for the suggestion Rob. 15 isn't too young to marry (unusual but it happens.) In this case, I've discovered she married John Skeath about 1658
Thank you Anne. So is the Sarah Waters who married Joshua Rea still unknown?
Yes, I believe she is still parents unknown.

"The Pioneers of Massachusetts" by Charles Henry Pope, published 1900 and based on records and contemporaneous documents, lists the Sarah who married Joshua Rea as the daughter of Richard Waters.

If you look closely at Pope's Pioneers you will see that after Sarah and after Phebe he placed "[a dau.?]" Pope had doubts about the designation. Her profile has a couple of paragraph's (at the top) explaining why she has in the past been considered possibly the d/o Richard and why this is unlikely.

It's always nice to figure out where those early incorrect designations come from. I've added this one to her profile. Thank you.
