The Categorization Project on WikiTree is the place where discussion happens to help develop categories for use across the site. Because so many people use them, it is important that structure of categories is discussed before major implementation. The Categorization Project helps facilitate that, as well as set up new categories, fix erroneous categories, and apply them.
The project goals are:
- Category maintenance: Correcting errors in category names; Adding categories to hierarchy.
- Category oversight and collaboration: Facilitating category oversight and collaboration between projects and WikiTree users .
- Category vision: Assuring that the whole category structure from top to bottom is coherent and easily accessible.
To support these goals, we have two teams within the project:
Most persons joining will need to choose one of the maintenance teams and expect to be active in addressing database errors.
If you would like to join us, post an "answer" below and we'll get you a badge and get you working on maintaining our WikiTree categories.
Thanks!
