Would You Like To Join the Categorization Project? [closed]

Question

The Categorization Project on WikiTree is the place where discussion happens to help develop categories for use across the site. Because so many people use them, it is important that structure of categories is discussed before major implementation. The Categorization Project helps facilitate that, as well as set up new categories, fix erroneous categories, and apply them.

The project goals are:

• Category maintenance: Correcting errors in category names; Adding categories to hierarchy.
• Category oversight and collaboration: Facilitating category oversight and collaboration between projects and WikiTree users .
• Category vision: Assuring that the whole category structure from top to bottom is coherent and easily accessible.

To support these goals, we have two teams within the project:

• Maintenance Team Maintains the category hierarchy and addresses errors.
• Vision and Collaboration Team Project liaisons (if you are representing one of the WikiTree projects) 

Most persons joining will need to choose one of the maintenance teams and expect to be active in addressing database errors.

Can I please join this project. I am interested in joining the vision and collaboration team. I have worked with Open Data projects in the past and this had helped me learn about the importance of a good taxonomy.

I am a fast learner and would be willing to work on conceptualising categories in general, although I also have a few specific interests. I have recently put my hand up to be part of the collaboration team for the Australian project, which is how I become more acquainted with G2G. I have also been learning by doing through a ONS, with the support of Ros.

Anyway I would be happy to join the Vision and Collaboration team if you will have me
