What is an inappropriate answer?

Is it in bad taste to answer a silly question with a snappy answer à la Al Jaffee, Don Rickles, Groucho Marx just in case a silly question is ever asked in the future. Wouldn't the blame for a lack of decorum fall on the person that asked the question?  Such as on me for asking this one?

Certainly i would appreciate smart snappy answers...with lots of smileys and such.  Mags
I guess it might depend on whether or not the person who asked the question also thought/realized it was 'silly.'  Sometimes when we ask a question - the answer might seem so obvious to someone else that it sounds silly to them - but we all may have a 'DUH" moment at times!
