Why is a past presidents profile set to private? [closed]

Question

I was trying to do the relationship finder, but it is not available because of the profile setting, which is not in accordance with policy. I finally went through Gearge's father, Preston and figured it from there, but that is not how I should've had to do it. Can a supervisor ajust this, please? Several requsts have been made on the profile with no apparent response. Thank you!

Since he is still living, WikiTree policy is to have the profile set to one of the four "Private" settings - "Public" and "Open" aren't allowed. It isn't ideal for public figures, but it is the best way to handle the privacy of any living person entered into WikiTree.

That profile is Private with Public Bio and Tree now, so I guess someone's already seen this question and adjusted it. :)

For some reason I thought that if it was on the most open allowable setting, that you could use the relationship button. That was my bad. It is currently set to the best available option. Thank you for the clarification, Erin, I completely understand the rationale behind it. Here is another thing I am uncertain of though, Since I went back to Preton Bush's profile to find the relationship, I would add one to the cousin relationship, and subtract one from the generational difference, (right?) that would make George H W my 9th cousin, 3 times removed and George dubbya my 10th cousin twice removed?? Am I getting that even close to right?

Prescott and Robin are 8th cousins 4 times removed
