It would help if you clarified as to the location - Springfield in MA? IL? MO etc. and provided some timeframe - dates or approximate dates of b, m, d.

You can also look at the Surname list for Chapin on WikiTree and see if you find a match.  There are plenty of Samuels, as well as the others.  Click the link below.  If you sort by 'Name' column they will show alphabetically by first name.

Are you referring to Deacon Samuel Chapin, 1598-1675, born in England, dies in Springfield, MA? Married to Cicely Penny. Not sure of your relationship but check out suggestions.
