Residing in Newburg, Maine at the time of enlistment. Enlisted on June 1, 1863 at Washington DC as a Private in the 1st District of Columbia, Company L. Transferred on February 13, 1864 to the 1st Maine Cavalry, Company E. Wounded in right leg, amputated on April 6, 1865 at Sailor's Creek, Virginia. Died of wounds received at Sailors Creek 6/1/1865 and buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA, USA.

It appears he was Joan F. Flinn per Ancestry.com search.  There is also a burial record in Arlington for a Juan F. Flinn which appears more likely.

Further review finds a Juan Fernandes Flinn in Ancestry.com.  Tree is named:  Miles_Ludlam and owner is listed as pammil
