Does removal of relationships show in edit history?

Out of curiosity, if I remove a relationship link between two profiles (such as a parent-child link or a spouse-spouse link), does that fact appear anywhere in the edit history?  I was looking at a profile recently that I'm fairly sure used to have parents attached, but I didn't see anything in the edit history saying that the relationship had been removed.

If I remember correctly, (not guaranteed by any means), it will show under one's own "contributions," but not on the "changes page."

(Making this a comment, just in case there is more to the story, or I am completely wrong).

Don't know if they do, but I think they should.

Hi Sharon,

There is a confusing wrinkle here. Edits to relationships should be tracked, but sometimes multiple relationships are changed in one edit, and those are not tracked. For example, if you add a child to a man, the system may ask you if the man's wife is the new child's mother. The child will be added to the mother, but the edit will only show for the father.

It's on the to-do list to work out a cleaner tracking system for this.

I have done this a few times.  I got an entry in the Changes log saying "You edited the data ...", but it didn't specifically say anything about a relationship being removed.  I added a note to myself in the Biography section describing what I had done and why.

I do a variation of this.  When one edits a spousal or parental fact, it brings up a new edit window. Whatever happens in that window does not appear to get recorded in the changes tab. When I'm done with that window I close it which brings me back to edit window of the main profile. I enter what I just did in the "reason for change" box (detached from disproven parents) and click save.  Then that will be recorded in the changes tab.
