Looking for a member of Colonial Dames

I have contacted the National Society of Colonial Dames asking for copies of records. This is in regard to my ancestor Harvey Pease pease-408 and his parents. There are conflicting sources of the internet and everywhere else of Havey's real parents. What I have is: Uriah Pease pease-409 and Persis Stoddard stoddard-409.

Colonial Dames do have records of the ancestors of Alma L Metcalf love-2223 as she was a member of that organization and had to prove her ancestrial lines that go back to Colonial times. She was also a member of the Mayflower Society before the big fire which destroyed a lot of records. She is a descendant of Harvey Pease.

Only members can obtain copies of records, but the person I was in contact with said a member could obtain applications for me. It's 10 bucks a copy of whatever.

So, please if you are a  member of Colonial Dames or know of any that would be so great. I have been working on the parents of the above Harvey Pease for about 20 years.

Sorry, not a 'Dame' ... but I did enter Persis' siblings which may be one more little link in your search.  A link to the online source: John Stoddard of Wethersfield Conn. ... is in those profiles.  No mention of your Harvey in that book.  All of this because my wife is a Stoddard!  Good luck in your search.
Zebulon, Persis's older brother (he was 8 years older) first settled in Beckett, Mass. That is real close to where my Harvey Pease was born (Berkshire co. Mass). Then they, Zebulon, Persis, Uriah Pease and Harvey Pease moved to New York state where Harvey's siblings were born. In my mind there is no doubt Harvey Pease is the son of Persis (Stoddard) Pease. I just don't have the proof.
Which Colonial Dames group are you looking for a member of? I'm a member of the National Society Colonial Dames of the XVII Century.
Here is the document I have:

From the Vigo County (Indiana) Library Website:

National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century, Nathaniel Foote Chapter

The founding date is March 30, 1963 although the history of the Nathaniel Foote Chapter of the Colonial Dames XVII Century dates from October 4, 1958 when Alma Love Metcalf was appointed Organizing President of the State Society meeting in Lebanon. In November 1957 Mrs. Metcalf had received application papers and an invitation from Mrs. HC Harvey, State Organizing Secretary, inviting her to become a member of the Colonial Dames XVII Century. Her name had been suggested by a cousin in California to the then National President General, Mrs. Harrington. In February 1958 Metcalf's application papers were approved and she became a member of the Benjamin Mendenhall Chapter. Mrs. Harvey then suggested it would be wonderful if a chapter could be organized in Terre Haute (Indiana) and asked Metcalf to investigate the possibility.

On October 24, 1959 an organizing meeting was held in the Crystal Room of the Deming Hotel and with a membership of ten, the chapter name of "Nathaniel Foote" was officially confirmed. The charter requirement of twenty-one members was achieved and on March 30, 1963 the chapter was chartered.

Alma Metcalf was my first cousin two generations removed. Her profile here on Wikitree is Love-2223.

What I am saying is: Alma had to have the same records, as with the Mayflower Society which she was also a member, in The National Society of Colonial Dames. These records in the Mayflower Society were destroyed, but I was hoping the NSCD are keeping all genealogy records.

BTW Alma's cousin was Monta Love North of Riverside, California. She was a member of the Society of Mayflower Descendants, and I have a copy of her original application.
My understanding is that you are hoping to obtain the application papers of Alma Metcalf that she used to join National Society of Colonial Dames XVII Century. Is this correct?
Yes :)  The Mayflower application had attached a photostat copy of a Bible record which (I assume) showed and proved that Harvey Pease was the son of Uriah and Persis (Stoddard) Pease. I would think they would use the same proof for the Colonial Dames application. I don't have that copy, and it's a last ditch effort to prove my Mayflower line.

This line is in the DAR records. Uriah Pease DAR Ancestor number A087371. Wikitree number Pease-637. I really don't know how credible the DAR stuff is, but it will suffice for now. :)

I am a Colonial Dame.....I looked for your ancestor Harvey Pease.  The only documented Pease decendent that I could find is John Pease.

In the book John Stoddard and his des. 1642-1872. (Google Books), the last name "Pease" is mentioned twice: 1-page 20 and 2- page 52.

Page 52 states under "children of Joseph (78) and Mary Fuller Stoddard" are listed with birthdates and places - Joseph, Zebulon, Jesse, Mary, Perse, Persi, Candace, Joseph, Samuel, Jesse. [The reason there are two boys named the same is the first one had died and many times families reused the names].

189. VI (sixth child) Persi, born Wethersfield, CT, Dec 10, 1778, bap. as Persis in Newington in 1780 m. Uriah Pease and "settled in New York State."

I am a member of CDXVIIC [Colonial Dames 17th Century (please use this designation as there is also a CDA for Colonial Dames of America)] and NSDAR.  Both organizations have impeccable qualifications, however, many of the older applications have been found incorrect as records were not available in the early years.

This book John Stoddard ... is available on Google Books and it is a free download if you do not have it.  Uriah Pease and Persis Stoddard are in the NSDAR ancestor records.  I have not looked for Uriah Pease but if you are looking for a Pease ancestor married to Persis, it is he.

Now Uriah had two wives- 2nd was NAOMI MOORE/MOOR, m 11 May 1766.  Now you have to decide if Persis or Naomi was Harvey's mother. There is another book with no email access, print only - Pease Family from Great Baddow England by Richard Bart.  This book states that Uriah was the son of Joseph and Sarah Pease. They had 4 sons, though I do not know the names.
