One of the Qualifications for Profile of the Week is -

The profile doesn't have to be new, but there should be recent, substantive improvements.

What do you consider recent? And while I'm asking, How much is substantive?

I've wondered the same thing, and I'm not on the POTW committee and will happily defer to those who are, but common sense suggests -- about a month?

Chris set the qualifications for PotW when the project was first formed, so anything on the Project page is what Chris has added, maybe we need to make the qualifications clearer on the Project page?
Right, Terry. I wrote the instructions when we were just getting started. You and the other Leaders have elaborated quite a bit of how the PoTW works in practice. If you think it merits getting more detailed on the rules, it's your call.

Chris i have no problem with the wording on the PotW project page it has worked since the projectv started ,it is the new members that what the wording clearer,it seems pretty straight forward to me Terry

The word substantive is rather an ambiguous word and one that is well suited for Profile of the Week. Important, Meaningful, Considerable; it means all these but the meanings themselves can also mean other things. With Profile of the Week it dosent mean you have to re write the narrative, improvements which is possibly a more direct word, can be made by, fonts, media and sourceing methods all make the Profile more appealing and all can be substantive within the definition of the wording. ~ Eric
