John Adams Sr. (1691-1761) was the father of John Adams Jr., second president of the United States, and grandfather of John Quincy Adams, the sixth president.
Biography

John Adams Sr. (February 8, 1691[1] – May 25, 1761) He was the son of Joseph Adams and Hannah Bass. Adams married well, to Susanna Boylston, from a prominent family of scientists and medical doctors, on November 23, 1734.
John and Susanna had three children:
- John Adams – Patriot, President, and Founding Father of the United States of America.
- Peter Boylston Adams – A farmer and militia captain of Braintree, Massachusetts.
- Elihu Adams – A company commander in the militia who died in the early days of the American Revolution.
Adams died in 1761, at the age of 70, and his widow Susanna later married John Hall
